I am touched by all things Celtic. Perhaps it is the time I have spent at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham, MA. Perhaps it is my love of Irish music. Most likely it is the poetic nature and depth of soul that draws me. Thus my choice of Aislinn as a name. The symbols below the name come from Newgrange. Newgrange is one of the passage tombs of the Bru na Boinne complex in County Meath, one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world and the most famous of all Irish prehistoric sites. Newgrange was built in such a way that at dawn on the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice, a narrow beam of sunlight for a very short time illuminates the floor of the chamber at the end of the long passageway.
Each spiral represents the male, the female, and the child and their life’s path. It had deep significance in the Stone Age era in their quest to understand the mysteries of the existence of the Universe. Today the Tri Spiral continues that fascination and leads us to believe that life is all too short but very precious. One must do their utmost to bring love, laughter and friendship to those who we love and cherish because who knows what the future will hold. |
